Planning on Natural Birth but I have a question!?

Can they give you a topical numbing agent while cutting your hoo hoo area and sewing it back up.. I want to feel the labor and the birth but I want to know if I can actually have some kind of numbing cream or shot rubbed on down there to numb it while they cut and sew me back up. I figure I can still get the full experience of a natural child birth. I don't want the groggy after effect of meds in my system while I'm enjoying holding my baby.
