Against horseback riders in general?

I am against some rodeo events, but not barrel racing and pole banding and stuff. I'm not even really against the whole bucking bronc thing (well sort of, it depends on the condition of the horse), but I dont really like the cow roping stuff, and horse tripping is awful. But I love horseback riding, and even throught here are a few mean rider's out there, there are way more who dote upon their horses, loving and spoiling them. A lot of horses love to work, and if you take that away from them, they can become really depressed.
